Outlining this weekend’s featured Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at the ideal target, trainer Nigel Blackiston has revealed he will enter Let’s Make Adeal in the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes (2400m) at Caulfield on October 11th should the classy mare be balloted out of her first choice.
Exhibiting a final field size of just 16 plus emergencies, Let’s Make Adeal currently sits 26th in ballot order for the 2014 Turnbull Stakes and will need several of her nominated rivals to miss the event to assure a position.
Thrilled with the form and class displayed by the Red Ransom mare in a 1600m piece of work on the Flemington course proper on Tuesday morning, Blackiston told AAP he is confident Let’s Make Adeal will perform well in any race she enters next up.
“It was really good, solid work,” Blackiston said.
“I think my mare is going really well and obviously Silent Achiever is a good mare. I’m just pleased with the way she is progressing and hopefully we can get into the Turnbull.
“She’s matured, she’s stronger. We just need a little bit of luck. But she never finds it, unfortunately.”
Securing two race wins and a further seven minor places from her 21 competitive starts so far, Let’s Make Adeal was a notable performer over the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival; winning the Guinot International Handicap (1600m) first-up and progressing to an impressive fourth in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) and second in both the Listed Penang Trophy (1800m) and Group 3 Lexus Stakes (2500m) most notably.
While unable to finish in the places over five starts through autumn, the mare out of Let’s Get Famous did manage fourth in the Group 3 Sky High Stakes (1900m) and a credible seventh in the Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m) most notably.
